WHAT WE ARE

Malahide (Co Dublin, Ireland) has a population of over 20,000 and has more than twenty separate residents' associations. Malahide Community Forum is the umbrella group for residents' associations in Malahide. We act as a watchdog to warn residents and to take action on their behalf when issues arise which are likely to affect the residents of Malahide as a whole. Your local residents' association should deal with issues specific to your street or estate.
We are concerned with the social, cultural, educational, environmental and economic well-being of our community. We address issues that might threaten this well-being. These include issues like planning of major developments, access and transport within the area, services, and safety of residents. When problems arise, or are threatened, we represent the interests of residents to the relevant authorities, such as the County Council, the Gardaí, transport companies, suppliers of other services, etc. | WHAT WE DO

Our committee represents all of the different areas within Malahide. It meets monthly to identify problems or opportunities and to find ways of addressing them. We keep an eye on the proceedings of the County Council and the various specialist departments such as Roads, Drainage, Planning etc. We extract planning applications relevant to Malahide from the weekly County Council lists so that local residents associations can see what is proposed and can, when necessary, object. When issues arise that can affect the whole village, we take action ourselves.
If you would like to see what our current concerns and actions are, see our Monthly Notes page. If you would like to learn of the progress on the introduction of a shuttle bus service around the village of Malahide please visit the Malahide Shuttle website.
