The office is based near Caernarfon Castle (see map) you are welcome to visit us anytime. There is a charity shop in the same building in which we sell many items of clothing, pottery / porcelain and so on.

Age Concern Gwynedd a Môn is a voluntary organisation providing advice, information and support to older people and their Carers.

Services:

Benefits Advice
This service provides free help and advice on benefits relevant to people over the age of 50. Home visits are also available.

Home Care Service
This service provides trained staff to help with cleaning and domestic tasks that can become a burden. There is a charge for this service.

Gwynedd Supported Shopping Scheme
The scheme allows older people in Gwynedd to go out shopping with a carer. Its aim is to retain a person’s choice and independence. Places on this scheme are limited.

Day Care
These centres aim to support older people who wish to remain living in the community but need additional contact and support.

Lunch Clubs
Lunch clubs offer friendship, recreation and support and can be a great way to meet up with friends. There are various clubs held throughout Gwynedd and Anglesey.

Alzheimer’s Sitting Service
This service was set up with the Alzheimer’s Society and provides 5 hours free service a month. Hours can be used for a range of activities, walks, shopping or just simply company; it also provides respite for carers. Places on this scheme are limited.

Hafan Drop-in Centre
Hafan is situated in Bangor Town Centre. It is used by many people as a place to meet friends or as a rest from shopping. Carers also use Hafan as respite for an hour or so. Hafan is open every weekday and is staffed by trained carers.

Age Well - Centers
We support the development of three Age Well Canters. The Age Well Centers are open four days a week offering activities such as: gentle exercise, Tai Chi, yoga, cooking, local history, indoor bowls, computer training, craft workshops and much more.

The Department of Work and Pensions hold bi-monthly surgeries at our offices in Caernarfon on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month between 9.30-12.30pm. Call 01286 677711 for appointment.
