An MATV (Master Antenna Television) system is basically a television signal distribution system that sends signals from an aerial to various points. An MATV system varies in size and complexity depending on the location.

An SMATV (Satellite Master Antenna Television) is an enhanced version of an MATV system with allows clients to combine the benefits of satellite with the terrestrial signals from an aerial. This is the preferred method for a hotel system where extra channels from satellite receivers located at the head end can be distributed throughout the hotel along with aerial signals.

An IRS (Integrated Reception System) combines Aerial, Satellite, FM and Dab signals and distributes them to each point. The end user can connect their own equipment to the consumer points to enable them to view either terrestrial or satellite pictures. It is now common practice to run two cables to each point to enable residents to connect Sky+, HD or Freesat+ receivers to the outlet point. This is recommended for blocks of flats and holiday parks. 

One of our biggest clients is Gwynedd County Council where we have been responsible for installing new five wire IRS systems in large blocks of flats throughout the county. We have also installed a great many IRS systems for holiday parks, both on new parks and retro fitting to existing.
